5 Street Photos From The Weekend

Street photography of man wearing headphones in Covent Garden, London.

I had the opportunity last weekend to get out and spend a few hours solely dedicated to just grabbing some street photography.  A lot of my street photography these days is taken on the fly, whilst I’m out doing other things. So having time just for street photography was definitely very welcome and something I want to get back to doing more of moving forward.

Armed with an Olympus EM1 Mark II, set on silent shutter, and the Panasonic 14mm (28mm EFL) lens, I hit some of my most favourite spots for street photography in central London: Southbank, Covent Garden, Leicester Square, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Regent Street, Oxford Street and a few others.  I think I walked 20,000 steps according to my phone!

It was one of those days where I felt “in the zone” and got at least a few semi decent shots in the bag.  Here are 5 of my favourites from the day, in no particular order:

Street photography of a man up a ladder in Leicester Square, London
Leicester Square, London (2018)
Street photography of a woman on a bench on the Southbank in London
Southbank, London (2018)
Fleet Street, London (2018)
Street photography of man wearing headphones in Covent Garden, London.

Street photography of a man on his knees in Leicester Square, London.

I hope you enjoyed this small selection. I’ll post some additional outtakes from the day tomorrow.
